Modular Weaponry

Modular weaponry is the way to go for any serious FanWar or LARP enthusiast because the options are limitless and with a set of parts you can make almost anything you want. Modular is a more expensive that the old style weapons, but when it comes to looks and versatility, there is no comparison. This page will take you through the steps to make a basic broadsword in the modular style which consists of a standard blade and hilt as well as Axes and other weapons. Please note that as far a safety is concerned, these swords are not as reliable as the three or two chambered old style swords and require a more conscientious battling style.

STEPS TO MAKE MODULAR PVC SWORDS (dagger demo)

I always start with making a dagger. It is exactly the same process as making a sword, just smaller, so it is a great way to learn all the basic skills needed to make a modular PVC sword without as much trouble of duct tape folding over on itself or foam slipping out of place. Once you have all the supplies needed you can begin below. Note: The above list is everything you will need, but the size is different (1/2″ Schedule 40 is only 16″ long and the pipe insulation only needs to be 2 feet).
