SUMMARY:Sebastopol Weekly League (Thursdays)
DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP FORMS HERE \nLive Action Role Playing is a tremendous teaching tool and capable of dynamic\, physically driven learning that transcends the usual boundaries of standard education. Due to the interactive\, dramatic\, hands on methods used in LARP\, teaching is often effortless and fun. Players explore concepts from history\, linguistics\, political studies\, geography\, psychology\, literature\, mythology\, engineering\, science\, mathematics\, fine arts\, team building\, and much\, much more in a single session and often don’t even realize they are learning due to the fact that they are the active participant in the process\, not the passive receiver.\nThis event takes place in two parts\, weekly\, in Palo Alto at Mitchell Park. The first session from 1:30pm-4pm and trains players in the game\, as well as continues an ongoing story the players themselves are involved in creating. The second session from 4:30pm-7pm continues this story and expands upon it\, challenging players to follow through on their projects and connect to those of others. This class provides an after school activity that is social\, physical\, and mentally challenging in a time when kids more and more are finding sedentary\, electronic alternatives to real human interactions. Both sessions involve players making and role playing as characters in a shared imaginary world that spans the Bay Area and has hundreds of players continuously involved in collaborating on the process of storytelling and adventure. These events also tie into the weekend events and other leagues which have been a tradition in the area for the past ten years. Players must learn to battle with safe larp weaponry\, solve intricate story elements\, role play as a wide variety of monsters and creatures of the world\, and manage their resources carefully. LARP is helping transform the lives of children all across the Bay Area and beyond. \nFanwar Camps \n(Sebastopol – Fall 2019) \nFall Hours 1:30-4:00pm & 4:30-7:00pm! \n  \nInformation \n  \nRegistration: New players can only join on the first event of the month.  All families must pre-register for this event. There are a limited number of spaces available. Registration and payment are required to save your spot. To register fill out registration form and e-mail to christophermelville@fanwar.com or turn in to Christopher Melville at a Fanwar event. Payment may be given to Christopher at a Fanwar event\, sent via PayPal at the above email address\, or sent in the mail (PO BOX 149\, Graton CA 95444).  Make checks payable to Christopher Melville or Fanwar LARP and please write your child’s name on the check as well. \nReminder: We are a group of families that get together to hire a gamemaster. At most events\, adults are required to remain on site. HOWEVER: because this event is during the week and is a succession of weekdays\, this requirement is being waived for this event only\, provided you have emergency contacts on file with the organizer and your child does not pose a significant risk to the flow\, safety\, or management of the event.  All children who do not have adults on hand to chaperon them must demonstrate that they are responsible and cooperative and cannot leave the premises for the duration of the camp hours with express written permission (see below). \nCost: Players sign up for one month at a time.  They must pay for the entire month on the first event of the month.  Players are not allowed pay for each day they attend\, but must make one payment of the total they attend.  If they do not attend all the sessions\, they may apply the credit to future events.  Trades for crafting of supplies and repair work is also accepted for those who wish to play a lot but keep the costs down.  See Christopher for projects to do as trade. \nLocation: The camp is being held at Willard Libby Park in Sebastopol CA.  We usually meet near the bocce ball court\, but may have to relocate depending on what other events are happening in the park that week. \nWhat to bring: Students need to bring food (if attending both sessions)\, clothing for variation in the weather\, as well as adequate sun protection and good athletic shoes.  Costumes and props are also a wonderful addition to our events. \nFood and Water: As mentioned above\, food and water are not provided\, and students must bring their own food for this event each day if they are attending both sessions. \nSchedule: We plan to meet every Thursday and begin in the afternoon with the first session from 1:30pm-4:00pm and the second from 4:30pm-7:00pm.  Each session is a series of missions\, training\, and role-playing encounters.  (If you need early drop off or late pickup- contact me) \n  \nNOTE: The Payment System has changed.  Players must pay at the start of the month for the whole month (see me if this is a problem for you.  Credit is applied for any days did not attend that month.)  No paying per day. \n  \nDates: \n\nAug (15th\, 22nd\, 29th) These dates are ONLY for the experienced players who have been playing already.  No new players.\n\n  \n\nSept (5th\,12th\,19th\,26th) New players are welcome so long as they attend from the first day of the month.\n\n  \n\n (3rd\,10th\,17th\,24th\,31st ) New players are welcome so long as they attend from the first day of the month.\n\n  \nFor more on Why LARP is a tremendous teaching tool\, check out the links below!\nhttp://www.fanwar.com/e107_files/downloads/WhyPlayLARP.pdf \nSign Up Forms and more info is available on the home page and below!

SUMMARY:Zephandira! Sebastopol LARP League
DESCRIPTION:This League is for more advanced players who enjoy a change in the game and story from many other leagues.  The league follows a plot line that only occurs at this event\, and so allows players in this league to track the entire story and only have to come to this one event.  The play level is challenging but the rules are the same. \nThis event takes place in two parts\, once a month\, in Sebastopol at Willard Libby Park.  The first session is from 10:00am-1:00pm and trains players in the game\, as well as continues an ongoing story the players themselves are involved in creating. The second session from 2:00pm-5:00pm continues this story and expands upon it\, challenging players to follow through on their projects and connect to those of others. \nFor more on Why LARP is a tremendous teaching tool. Check out the links below!\nhttp://www.fanwar.com/e107_files/downloads/WhyPlayLARP.pdf \nSign Up Forms and more information is available on the home page and below.)
