Junior League: FanWar has a Basic League available (for kids 8 and up) as well as an Advanced League (for kids 8 and up who want more complexity and have played a great deal). These two type of events are currently being held in Palo Alto but do also happen in the Cotati area and can be arranged anywhere. We play a simplified version of FanWar which is a one hit system (like freeze tag) that is easy for younger players to learn and play successfully. These events usually have a fee of $15 for a half day (about 3 hours). I supply all the equipment and train players in the rules at each event, so no experience is necessary to join.

Advanced League: This League is the next level beyond Basic League and is only available to players who have done several Junior League events and have shown an ability to play in a more abstract way. There are very specific rules and skills in Advanced League that are directly related to the Adult League. This League requires a great deal of concentration and reading skills and is not for all kids. Players must learn several skills and spells and know how they operate in numerous situations. Players also level up and become more and more powerful as they play Advanced League just as they would in the Adult League and thus not everyone is at the same power level at these events. Because of the complexity of this level of play for young kids we limit the number of players to 30 per session. Here is the Demo Video of Advanced League.

There is a Rule Book for Junior and Advanced League (newly updated for 2009) available online (PDF). I also have hard copies now available for $10 each.

These events are also run by the FanWar Staff and can be arranged as private parties. Simply arrange a date with one of us and decide on the League you wish to host. If I am running the event, the standard $15 a set applies, but if it is run by my staff, in the Crestfall Game World, for example, the cost is only $10 per set..
